The Coco Explorer , Click to enlargeSince 1991, I’ve been cruising a number of times on different ships in most areas of the world, so I feel like I am quiet familiar with Cruise ships and their standards. (Also see Windows to the World Cruises). Cruising on luxury liners usually means, loads of food, all-day entertainment but also get dressed well for dinner. Not that I have any problem with that really. In fact I am very easy in this sort of things. I mean, spending the night at a luxury 5-star resort or sleeping under a palm tree will both fits me. I always bear in mind: You get what you paid for.

White Beach - Boracay, Click to enlarge This time, I was looking for something different… The main goal was: Sight seeing as much as possible without the hassle of hopping from airport to airport. The solution which I found on the internet looks just excellent to me ! 7 nights on board The Coco Explorer, would bring the magic of the Philippines to reality. 7 amazing days I’ve spent, on board this wonderful ship, which I shared together with some 60 Scandinavian nationals and of course the ever friendly Philippine staff.
If you like to combine a great holiday with untouched beaches and unspoiled nature, if you’re a diver or just like Sun Sea and Sand, this is definitely the trip you want. I must admit the cabins are rather small but that might not refrain you from this dream-vacation in this Paradise Island World of Boracay and Northern Palawan .

BBQ at the Beach, Click to enlargeIt must been said that the cruise is a heaven for divers, but as myself I am a non-diver, I would highly recommend this cruise to anybody. The ship is old but strong and safety is at a high level here. On all shore excursions, done by ship’s tenders you’ll be requested to wear a life jacket. Don’t let it makes you feel afraid as the sea usually is calm and it is just a standard safety procedure.
Further more..., whether it is the open air breakfast under the rising sun, the lunch at sea or perhaps the highlight of the day, called dinner..., the food on board the ship is really delicious. While ship’s cooks are doing a great job each and every day to pamper the travellers, there’s even a beach party with a wonderful Bar-Be-Que at night with complimentary Rhum and coke. Big Fun guaranteed under the stars! The Christmas dinner, served outside on deck followed by a party at the dining room, was another night to remember.

3 generations at Talampulan, Click to enlarge Well, to repeat again, You get what you paid for….?
I need to correct this..., You get much much more on this trip for what you paid for, that's for sure. I brought home wonderful digital pictures which I would like to share with you on the Best of Images where you’ll be able to see why I love to do this trip again in the future. I also post ALL the pictures I took during this voyage at the ALL 72 PHOTOS. This is actually recommend only if you have plenty of time, but worthwhile too of course. I’ve done a short page about Sangat Island as I really like this island too much. Also, I would like to recommend my previous and more complete website about The Philippines.
